Meet ACTION Global Health Advocacy Partnership member — Results International Australia!

Results International Australia was established 35 years ago, inspired by RESULTS in the U.S. and founded on a belief that no matter where people are born, everyone should have equal opportunities to fulfil their potential in life. Results International Australia is part of a global community of everyday people empowered to end poverty, advocating on global health, education, nutrition, and women’s rights.

Their power lies in their large network of advocates who work tirelessly to transform the lives of millions of people around the world. Results inspires everyday people, politicians, and corporations to take action, using the power of conversation, education, and evidence-based advocacy.

Since its founding, Results International Australia has helped Influence the Australian Government to commit millions of dollars to advance global health, nutrition, and education programs, including AU$300 million for Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and $242 million for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria in 2019 and $300 million for the Health Security Initiative for the Indo-Pacific region in 2018. These funds have helped change the lives of millions of women, men, and children.

As COVID-19 threatens to undo decades of development progress, Results’ work in Australia is more important than ever before.

Throughout 2020, Results was a key leader and contributor to the End COVID for All campaign. The campaign brought together over 25,000 Australians and 200 organizations to call on the Australian Government to provide vital support to help vulnerable nations respond to and recover from the impacts of COVID-19. The campaign achieved significant influence via widespread media coverage; 45 meetings with high-level policymakers, many involving Results advocates, CEO, and Board members; and a successful social media campaign that reached millions of Australians.

The outcome was $1.1 billion in new commitments to support countries in the Asia-Pacific region respond to the COVID crisis.

During 2021, Results will be one of five key agencies helping lead phase two of this important campaign.
