Xochitl Sanchez

Secretariat Director

Xochitl Sanchez is the Director of the ACTION Secretariat where she has previously worked for several years as the senior advisor for development finance. Prior to joining ACTION, Xochitl was a senior program associate at the Microcredit Summit Campaign, where she co-led the development and research of the agenda focused around innovations and best practices in the microfinance and financial inclusion space, and coordinated stakeholder engagement and partnership building effort for the Summits. She also previously worked with the Borgen Project as a regional coordinator to expand their poverty-reduction campaigns and with the Leon H. Sullivan Foundation on outreach and communications.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University and a Master’s in International Development through Microfinance and Entrepreneurship from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and is co-chair on the D.C. chapter steering committee for Women Advancing Microfinance (WAM).
